What are some best practices for implementing stress management interventions online or remotely?
It will be of great value for the client and therapist to prepare for every session. Test the audio and visual devices. Reduce outside noise as much as possible. Check the lighting in the room. Think about options if in case problems arise with any of these.

What are some best practices for implementing stress management interventions online or remotely?
There are many mindful techniques and somatic work that have been found to be effective in managing stress. These can be taught remotely by providers. Under these methods are sub categories that apply to different situations whether it's stress caused by work-life balance or even trauma. In order to find the best approach that fits the client's needs, providers can assess client's priorities for change. Both the therapist and client will decide on the goals for treatment. The therapist can then decide which tools are appropriate for the client's circumstances. However, it is always important for the therapist to check in with client to make sure they are comfortable with learning those skills.

In addition, technology has its many benefits. One of which is that providers can easily share their screens. For diagrams or handouts that are useful when demonstrating the practicality of interventions, they don't need to print them. Instead, they can be shared on the screen or shared as a downloadable file. Clients who learn best when they're giving homework in between sessions, this can be helpful.

I've found it very helpful to establish expectations in the beginning of the therapeutic alliance. By asking the client what they've experienced with therapy in the past, and what's worked for them the therapist can gauge how to meet the client in their needs. Secondly, the therapist can also emphasize the reality that therapy is a collaborative effort. Throughout the process, client and therapist must evaluate the effectiveness of the sessions. Thirdly, engagement will look very different in the online space. One study suggests that therapists must exaggerate their expressions (verbal and nonverbal) in order to demonstrate their interest in helping the clients. Movements (of hands and eye contact for example) are bigger than usual.
